The development of the Image Composite Editor (ICE) for the NASA Earth Observatory

Tom Whittaker, CIMSS/Univ. of Wisconsin, Madison, WI; and D. Herring and R. Simmon

In addition to describing the Image Composite Editor (ICE), we will present an overview of the iterative process used to create the ICE tool for the NASA Earth Observatory web site. The ICE allows end users to explore temporal or multispectral images using scientific approaches of producing data-derived graphs (scatter plot, histogram, etc), colorizing images, and making measurements.
