WeatherScope is a stand-alone web-based display and analysis system developed by the Oklahoma Climatological Survey. Using WeatherScope, users can produce maps tailored to their needs, applying a variety of point data and geographic overlays. Exploiting standard objective analysis, data can be displayed as a continuous field in either vector, gradient, or grid point data displays. Data, network, and geographic overlays can be changed by the network administrator to be updated dynamically by all users when they connect to the web server. WeatherScope also has the ability to produce time-series graphs of data at a location.

The defining of data, network, and geographic overlay sources is straightforward and highly configurable. The presenter will show examples of applications using various data networks, data types, and geographic overlays. A description of the process for configuring and creating data networks also will be given.

WeatherScope is available for Windows 98, 2000, and XP and Macintosh OS X operating systems. Written in C++ and employing OpenGL visualization tools, WeatherScope is a streamlined display tool for many applications in meteorology, geosciences, and geography.
