GOES-R Proxy data for Mesoscale weather systems
Exhibit Hall C (Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center)

A high quality proxy data system is requested by the GOES-R Algorithm Working Group (AWG) program for the development of GOES-R product algorithms and processing system. The central task of the proxy data management system is the delivery of the observation- and simulation-based GOES-R Level 1B data. Recently, the project has integrated 15-minute SEVIRI data, MODIS daily land surface temperatures, and emissivity data. The WRF model simulated GOES-R data for mesoscale weather events such as hurricanes and high-level clouds are under development.
