Atmospheric science policy on Capitol Hill; perspectives from the AMS-UCAR Congressional Science Fellow
214C (Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center)
Each year the American Meteorological Society and the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research co-sponsor a Congressional Science Fellow to work as a staffer on Capitol Hill for an individual member of Congress or on a Congressional Committee. I will describe my fellowship experiences during the period from September through December, 2006. I will discuss the AMS fellowship program, details of specific policy initiatives on which I am working, as well as my plans for the remainder of my one-year term on the Hill.
