The NPOESS Ozone Mapping and Profiling Suite (OMPS) Calibration & Validation Plans

The Ozone Mapping and Profiling Suite (OMPS) will be launched on the NPOESS Preparatory Project (NPP) in September 2009. The OMPS calibration and validation team presents an outline of the pre-launch and in-orbit activities. An end-to-end data flow of the sensor algorithms is outlined. We present a discussion of the OMPS flight model sensor test data analysis. The OMPS Sensor Data Record (SDR) calibration activities, planning and tool development are described. The validation plan for the OMPS Total Column Environmental Data Record (EDR) will be presented.
