The purpose of this study is to understand future regional climate change over Asia using the NCEP regional spectral model (RSM). To this end, boundary condition experiments driven by ECMWF Hamburg Atmospheric general circulation Model (ECHAM5) A1B scenario data are performed. The RSM is configured with an approximately 60 km grid over Asia. The model has been run for the period from 1 January 2010 to 31 December 2040 to generate future climate and from 1 July 1988 to 31 December 1998 for present climate. The analysis of the model results focuses on not only the seasonal mean climatology but also the interannual and intraseasonal variability of the Asian monsoon circulations.
