Outcomes from the first National Summit on Coping with Climate Change
215-216 (Ernest N. Morial Convention Center)
This session will summarize the findings of a Summit on Adaptation held in May 2007 at the University of Michigan. A cross-section of stakeholders who have experience participating in regional, national and international assessments met to identify available strategies to cope with climate change. We will provide an overview of the conclusions in the categories of wise planning and management as well as characterize a near- and long-term research agenda to fill important gaps in our knowledge., Two sectors, energy and water quality, will be discussed in more detail by the panelists that follow.
