Application of GOES and MSG data in NWP models

This poster summarizes major results of the studies of the uses of GOES and MSG data in NWP models. First, current GOES Imager data are assimilated in the GSI system. Second, SEVIRI clear sky radiances and All sky radiances data are ingested into GSI system. New bias correction and quality control algorithms are developed to study the assimilation of SEVIRI data, and its impacts in GFS model.
