Introduce on Typhoon Forecast Operational System

The typhoon forecast operational system (TFOS) is introduced in the present paper. It is developed based on MICAPS3.1. MICAPS has been developed to version3.1,which can quickly and effectively display abundant meteorological information, such as observation, model prediction, cloud data and radar data and so on. The purpose of TFOS is to adequately make use of the above multi functions and provide typhoon-forecasters with a complete operational work platform. It can get the real and forecast data from other typhoon forecast centers timely and display it in favorable and convenient ways. TFOS integrates searching and decoding the forecast codes, updating and maintaining the typhoon track information database, displaying real track from other forecast centers' information from GTS, calculating forecast errors, searching history tracks and making operational forecasts. It can make typhoon operational process automatic, intelligent, incorporate and real-time. This system is developed in program language C#.NET in data processing and operation interface and use MySQL and SQL Server database to realize the typhoon information sharing.
