Lightning climatology for the State of Colorado

Average cloud-to-ground lightning flash density values for Colorado have been calculated for the 15-yr period 1994–2009 excluding 2000. An annual mean map and monthly/seasonal mean maps will be constructed from the database. These maps represent a 15-yr climatology of the geographic distribution of detected cloud-to-ground lightning flashes and provide an insight into the thunderstorm distribution for the Centennial State.
