Four large urban tracer experiments were conducted in the US between 2000 and 2005: Urban 2000 in Salt Lake City, Joint Urban 2003 in Oklahoma City, MSG in Manhattan and Midtown 05 also in Manhattan. In this talk, we will discuss how the experimental measurements have been used to evaluate urban dispersion models, some of the difficulties encountered in the process, and some of the questions that have been raised and yet to be answered.
