6B (Washington State Convention Center)
During this talk, I will review some of the past year's major weather events which affected agricultural production around the world, and discuss some of the impacts to particular crops and food prices. Particular attention paid to (a) Russian wheat, (b) Brazilian and Indian sugar, and (c) North American grains. As a result of 2010 weather impacts, many stockpiles of commercially important crops are low going into the new year, so I will discuss the potential market and agricultural manufacturing ramifications that might be connected to a shorter supply-side scenario.
