The NOAA STAR Algorithm and Data Products (ADP) program was established in June of 2010 to manage the algorithm development, product calibration/validation and long term maintenance for the next generation of Earth observing satellites. Program management activities are organized around four themes, (1) instrument calibration, (2) product analysis and development, (3) Algorithm integration systems and (4) User engagement. Each of these themes is tied together to provide basic research that improves our ability to understand the satellite instruments, their products and establish system procedures. The complexities of the program from user requirement to product retirement will be provided to outline the activities that NOAA uses to help ensure its mission of applying science to meet the nations' environmental needs.
