While much scrutiny has been placed on the past several IPCC reports on global climate change, most analyses and commentary take place on an annual time scale over a period of years to decades. For end users of climate information in the energy sector, annual to decadal time scales matter most where people live and use energy. In this talk a perspective of climate change will be provided from an energy demand standpoint, basis the major users of energy across North America, Europe/western Russia, and Asia. Seasonal trends in temperature have varied significantly across populated regions of the globe and are analyzed in the context of better benchmarks for energy demand.
