The advances in GIS technology over the past decade have afforded significant opportunity to provide end-users of weather information more detailed and quantitative assessments of the impact of weather on business. Both temperature and precipitation datasets can be utilized to provide end-users specific weather information that can be utilized in hedging, trading, and risk management operations. Examples of these data will be provided with end user impacts highlighted.
