As part of the AMS Climate Studies Diversity Project, California State University East Bay plans to offer the climate course during the 2012-13 academic year. Course instructor Lora Teitler, who has a background in paleoclimatology, attended the May 2012 course implementation workshop in Washington, DC, as part of the NSF-funded project to introduce climate science to 100 minority-serving institutions over a five-year period. Over one-third of the university's students are underrepresented minorities. This presentation will describe how the course fits into the Earth and Environmental Sciences department and will provide an update on course implementation.
