Becoming a weather-ready Nation is about building community resilience in the face of increasing vulnerability to extreme weather. Released in April 2012, the National Weather Service Weather-Ready Nation Roadmap describes transformational activities the agency will undertake to advance the goal of becoming a weather-ready Nation. Public comments on the Roadmap were received and reviewed during the summer of 2012, along with the National Academy of Science study Weather Services for the Nation Becoming Second to None, and incorporated into a second version of the Roadmap. This presentation provides an update and overview of the NWS Weather-Ready Nation Roadmap and the associated Execution Plan.
