TJ31.4 Short-lived radiative forcings of the climate system [INVITED]

Wednesday, 9 January 2013: 9:30 AM
Ballroom C (Austin Convention Center)
Graeme Stephens, JPL/California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, CA

A review of current best-estimates of short-lived radiative forcings of the climate system will be presented. Perhaps the most significant uncertainties in these short-lived climate forcings are those associated with aerosol indirect effects on clouds and a review of the various components of this particular forcing will be provided. An assessment of our current state of understanding of this forcing will be provided and the challenges to progress identified.
