Aircity project is a European project led by ARIA TECHNOLOGIES, whose objective is to produce a numerical model to predict the atmospheric pollution of a big city high-resolution (3 meters). Paris has been studied in this project. To validate this high resolution model outputs in situ measurements from the AIRPARIF network have been used. To enable validation on a number of significant points, high resolution instrument, in space and time, should be used: a wind scanning LIDAR and an aerosol LIDAR from LEOSPHERE were used. Comparison of PM10 results between in situ measurements, LIDAR measurements and model will be on display as well as the challenges of this project. Examples of the influence of the urban canopy ,the buildings, measured by the wind LIDAR about the pollutants concentration will be also presented.
