Tropical cyclones are a diverse phenomenon coming in many shapes, sizes and strengths. Our research is aimed at analyzing the structure and evolution of tropical cyclones in the North Atlantic Ocean. Using the Extended Best Track (EBT) dataset we have documented the size, structure, and time evolution of the wind field associated with tropical cyclones in the North Atlantic Ocean Basin. Analysis including statistical analysis has been conducted of the area of wind speeds greater than 34 knots (tropical storm force), 50 knots, and 64 knots (hurricane force) and storm asymmetry.
