This poster will outline the recent efforts of the National Disaster Preparedness Training Center (NDPTC) at developing and delivering a Tornado Awareness course on behalf of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The NDPTC is charged with developing and delivering FEMA-certified hazardous weather training courses around the country to governmental, private, tribal, and non-profit entities, including emergency managers, first responders, and other professionals in vulnerable communities. As a member of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium, the NDPTC develops and delivers training courses for disaster management and homeland security interests to prepare for and respond to natural hazards across the country, including coastal and island communities.
