Previous studies concerning the Great Lakes have examined the role of lakes as places of initiators of weather such as cloud formation, lake breezes, and lake effect snow. Within this study, the focus is shifted to analyze how the Great Lakes impact pre-existing weather that propagates toward them. Here, we examine supercell thunderstorms interactions with Lake Michigan and its lake induced micro environment.
