The Aerosol Angström Exponent (AAE), which accounts for the wavelength dependency of the aerosol optical absorption coefficient was found to strongly correlate with the physical, chemical an toxicological properties of aerosol particles especially in the UV wavelength range. AAE was measured by a multi wavelength photoacoustic instruments. The correlation was investigated for various artificial and atmospheric aerosol under different conditions.
