As a part of the Summer SOAP (Student Operational ADRAD Project) undergraduate research program, Texas A&M students have embarked on revitalizing the cloud observatory located atop the Oceanography and Meteorology Building. This effort required cloud cameras to generate directional loops to capture cloud formations and movements corresponding to view directions from the observatory. Using experience from a previous student research project, a candidate camera was tested for appropriate use in cloud representation. A total of four cameras have been mounted to provide a 360° view from the main rooftop. Efforts to animate and archive images as well as early educational uses will be detailed.
