The Algorithm Scientific Software Integration and System Transition Team (ASSISTT) has developed Near Real-Time (NRT) processing systems for product generation by using the STAR Algorithm Processing Framework (SAPF). The ASSISTT NRT processing systems play an important role in the R2O (Research to Operational) algorithm transition: the systems support algorithm verification and validation over extended seasonal datasets. The algorithms are being tested using a variety of data, including: MODIS, SEVIRI, GOES Imager, VIIRS, AHI and ABI Simulated data. ASSISTT originally developed the NRT processing systems for GOES-R and have expanded to the other projects such VIIRS Polar Winds (VPW) and GOES Winds. Both the VPW and GOES Winds processing systems have been successfully delivered to OSPO (Office of Satellite and Product Operations) where the VPW is already operational. Because the successful role played in these projects, ASSISTT plans to psedo-operationally run the AHI Winds in NRT. ASSISTT has also developed a suite of tools to monitor product processing and system performance for the NRT processing. The product processing tool tracks the status of the processing from data ingest to output file production and the system performance tool gathers timing and other relevant information about the resources being used in the processing. Product visualization tools have also been developed by ASSISTT. The design details of the NRT product generation processing, monitoring tools, visualization tools, and future plans shall be discussed.
