NOAA's Operational Integrated Dissemination Program System

In 2014, NCEP Central Operations (NCO) built and operationalized the infrastructure of NOAA's Integrated Dissemination Program (IDP) System in College Park, MD. Since that time, applications such as MADIS, MRMS, NOMADS, MAG, NWS Virtualized Lab, NIDS, DataStreme, NowCOAST, and a subset of the NWS Telecommunications Gateway applications were implemented and are now operationally supported by NCO. In parallel to onboarding new applications in College Park, MD, NCO built the geographically diverse IDP system in Boulder, CO. The infrastructure was completed in November 2015 and the applications currently operational in College Park will begin to be supported on the system by Spring 2016. The presentation will include overviews of the infrastructures, a summary of supported applications, the metrics used to monitor both the hardware and software, and the current pipeline of projects and products scheduled for implementation in the near future.
