McIDAS-V is a powerful interactive open source visualization package distributed without charge. The software supports display of geospatial data on a 3D grid (x,y,z) at single or multiple times. McIDAS-V's Jython interface allows the user non-interactive access to the Java libraries that manage the analysis and display of the data. This presentation will summarize updates to automated data analysis using McIDAS-V libraries and scripts in preparation for analyzing GOES-R image quality. Examples from GOES-14 Super-Rapid Scan Operations will be used to showcase progress in the McIDAS-V Jython scripting API. The flexibility of the McIDAS-V toolkit will make the software very useful for analyzing data from Himawari-8, Suomi NPP and GOES-R as well as combining these data with other meteorological fields.
