The Multi-function Phased Array Radar (MPAR) program is an initiative to combine the radar functions of several operational national networks and have them served by a single radar system delivering the required performance for aircraft and weather surveillance. The collaboration between the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to reduce technical and cost risk made significant progress in the last year, and new developments related to spectrum reallocation generated important programmatic advances. This paper will update recent progress regarding MPAR research and development, and highlight programmatic initiatives.
