The future of the NCEP operational production suite of environmental models will be presented with two focal points. The first will major upgrades scheduled in the production suite for the next year. The second will be on strategic development of the production suite. The starting point of the strategic development plans is the findings of the UCACN Model Advisory Committee (UMAC), that convened in August 2015 to review the production suite. Developing high-level strategic plans at NCEP have been aligned with the UMAC findings, and will be presented here.
