Thunderstorms and winter storms cause most of the significant impacts for the flying public. These can result in extensive delays, diversions and even cancellations of a planned trip. The National Aviation Meteorologists at the FAA Air Traffic Center System Command Center (ATCSCC) work with FAA to minimize impacts to the air traveling public. During 2015 there were several weather events that caused significant impacts to the aviation industry and traveling public. A review of some of the bigger events will be presented.
