The Weather Ready Nation initiative outlines key points in the provision of Impact Based Decision Support (IDSS) to core public safety partners. One aspect of this support is the Impacts Catalog; this system stores the area, timeframe, and hazardous weather vulnerabilities as identified by core partners. Examples could include a large outdoor gathering, a bridge prone to high crosswinds, or an area of a city affected by street flooding and traffic stoppages. When predicted or observed meteorological conditions may reach the vulnerability thresholds identified, National Weather Service personnel are alerted, allowing focused decision support services for that partner. This presentation will provide an update on the latest technological and scientific changes to the Impacts Catalog system, as well as its relationship to other National Weather Service IDSS programs.
