One of the enduring legacys of Prof. Bob Bornsteins long urban career would be the popularization of the concept that urban areas can split thunderstorms.

This presentation will provide a summary of that topical area building off Prof. Bornsteins earlier work and the recent advances that are underway that link extreme rainfall patterns and urban processes.
