In this talk, we present a full-body interactive idealized model of atmospheric dynamics to be implemented as an informal education exhibit at the National Center for Atmospheric Research. This project is part of a larger research theme of designing tools for interacting with complex systems in real-time using full-body gestural interfaces and multimodal feedback. Design of the system is in close collaboration with atmospheric scientists and educators at NCAR, where we are engaging in early iterations of a design-based research practice to elicit design principles for the creation of real-time, interactive models for use in hypothesis formation and testing, research communication, and education.
