This presentation overviews the preliminary validation of the operational SNPP NOAA Unique Combined Atmospheric Processing System (NUCAPS) trace gas environmental data record (EDR) products with focus given to ozone (O3), carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO2).  The latest offline versions of NUCAPS O3 retrievals are validated versus global ozonesonde collocations along with ECWMF model comparisons.  Preliminary validation of CO and CO2 retrievals are performed via global satellite intercomparisons against the NASA Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS) v6 flying in the same orbit onboard the Aqua spacecraft along with spot checks from available collocated in situ datasets.  CO and CO2 product assessments are made with reference to the JPSS Level 1 requirements.  Comparisons of the latest offline code utilizing nominal-resolution and full-resolution Cross-track Infrared Sounder (CrIS) data will also be presented.  NUCAPS CO and CO2 trace gas EDRs are shown to have reasonable agreement with the AIRS v6 EDRs.  The improvement in CO trace gas performance using the CrIS full-resolution data is also highlighted.
