We use the WRF-Chemistry model driven by NCEP reanalysis at the lateral boundary conditions during December-May of each year from 1995 through 2010.  During this period several epidemics have occurred in Burkina Faso during the period and we compare weekly suspected cases to daily and monthly simulated surface particulate matter concentrations.   In addition to the simulated dust concentrations, we examine the circulation during these periods.  We also examine satellite based aerosol optical depth whenever possible for comparison to WRF simulated data.
