Identified and discussed at prior AMS meetings, there is a significant gap in consumer readiness to take action and seek safety prior to severe weather – A critical issue and opportunity.  Those at risk will process three decision phases — ‘I care, I understand, and I act’ - based on information provided by the weather industry.  One of the first Weather Ready Nation Ambassadors, AccuWeather is addressing each of these phases through an innovative new year-round preparedness initiative, working collaboratively within the weather enterprise in the common mission to save more lives.  In this presentation, AccuWeather will share their weather readiness case study and insights, a companywide cross-platform initiative and focus, to provide new information and tools that will help others in the weather community make a difference in advancing severe weather communications and end user impact.
