The paper will review Gary Davis’s career as a key participant spanning many decades in the field of environmental satellites.  The Co-Authors will reflect on Gary Davis’s role and influence in international cooperation with a focus on the World Meteorological Organization and the Coordination Group for Meteorological Satellites (CGMS).  Without qualification, Gary Davis’s knowledge of USA systems coupled with his drive to provide valuable data and products to world-wide communities directly contributed to a robust global satellite system complete with contingency planning and operational capabilities.
