8.1 Reaching Out by Inviting In: Using Inreach to Develop Connections with Library Users

There has been a long emphasis on library outreach services to our users: "embedded librarianship," library instruction sessions in the department, virtual reference services, and meeting users in their physical spaces, to name just a few.

But what about increasing interaction and fostering ties by inviting them into our spaces? We'll talk about some recent experiences we've had inviting faculty and graduate students into the library to share their expertise and how that led to the positive connections we usually seek through outreach
