In late 2015 dual Cray XC40 supercomputers were installed at NOAA/NCEP to boost available computing resources for NCEP's large suite of weather and climate forecast products. These wo
systems increased the peak computing power at NCEP by a factor of over 2.4. This talk will take a look at some of the details involved in migrating many large and complex modeling suites
to the new systems and achieve optimal performance as well as reduce the mean time to produce forecast products.
