An overview of all data collected by the West Desert Test Center during the Joint Urban 2003 urban dispersion experiment

During the summer of 2003, the West Desert Test Center (WDTC) deployed an array of 20 sonic anemometers mounted on lampposts in and around the central business district of Oklahoma City, OK in support of the Joint Urban 2003 urban dispersion experiment. The data from the sonic anemometers were collected on storage modules on a two-night schedule, with half of the data modules collected on one night and the other half collected on the following night. WDTC also deployed an array of 15 PWIDs (Portable Weather Information Display Systems), some collocated with the sonic anemometers, in the central business district. There data were transmitted in real time to a central receiving station. In addition to surface measurements, WDTC deployed two remote-sensing instruments: a SODAR collocated with a boundary layer frequency modulated-continuous wave (FM/CW) radar. The data from each of these instruments was collected and stored locally and is available from the Joint Urban 2003 database website.
