Shali Mohleji recently completed a term as a Senior Advisor to the former NOAA Administrator Dr. Kathryn Sullivan. In this role, she focused on a range of federal policy issues including public-private partnerships, weather legislation, commercial space, and data sharing. Prior to NOAA, Shali worked in the AMS Policy Program as a Senior Policy Fellow and engaged in policy issues such as weather legislation, research-to-operations, hospital resilience to disasters, and scientific integrity. Shali earned a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science (concentration in Atmospheric Science) from the University of Virginia, a Master’s degree in Atmospheric Science (concentration in Boundary Layer Meteorology) from Purdue University, and a doctoral degree specializing in Science and Technology Policy from the University of Colorado.
