Dr. Manobianco is currently the Weather Systems Manager for BASF in State College, PA., leading a team of meteorologists and software developers to support precision agriculture and digital farming applications across the globe. He is also the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer for Mano NanoTechnologies, Inc., a New York-based startup company focused on research and development of advanced environmental sensor technology. Before committing full time to Mano Nano pursuits in spring 2015, Dr. Manobianco was involved with renewable energy assessment and operational forecasting for almost 7 years.
He spent nearly 15 years with ENSCO, Inc. a VA-based engineering, science, and software services company. After joining ENSCO in the early 1990s, Dr. Manobianco managed technology transfer for the U.S. Space Program in Florida as part of NASA’s Applied Meteorology Unit. During the 10 years with this unit, he received two NASA Space Act Awards in recognition of efforts to configure, evaluate, and transition weather modeling systems to improve operational weather forecasting. Dr. Manobianco holds advanced degrees in meteorology from Florida State University with 30 years of experience as a leader in technology and business management.
