Customer satisfaction with NOAA’s National Weather Service climate products and services

Barbara E. Mayes, NOAA/NWS, Silver Spring, MD; and R. E. Livezey

In the fall of 2004, NOAA’s National Weather Service (NWS) is conducting a survey of its customer base to determine the level of customer satisfaction with NWS climate products and services. The survey rates customer satisfaction on a range of NWS climate products, including Climate Prediction Center (CPC) outlooks, drought monitoring, and ENSO monitoring and forecasts, as well as NWS climate data services. In addition, the survey evaluates the users of the products to give NWS insight into its climate customer base. NWS will introduce the results of the climate Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) survey and will propose solutions to products or services in need of improvement as determined by the survey.
