Overview of Research and Field Observation Activities in Texas and Oklahoma
Kenneth Howard, NOAA/NSSL, Norman, OK; and N. Kuhnert
The National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL) in conjunction with the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB) conducted a detailed analysis of the growth and decay of convective storms occurring in the state of Oklahoma. This study examined in detail the occurrence and lifecycle attributes of individual thunderstorms. It compared and contrasted lifecycle characteristics of storms in regions where anthropogenic agents were introduced with pristine regions. The analysis and study was conducted using advanced imaging processing and advanced storm identification algorithms in addition to encompassing multiple sensor high-resolution observational data. .
