The equations of relative dispersion in homogeneous turbulence are derived using inertial range scaling and statistical diffusion theory. The relative dispersion decorrelation time scale, and the Richardson-Obukhov constant of relative dispersion are derived analytically. An application of the theory within Monte Carlo PDF micromixing models is described. Comparisons with direct numerical simulations, Lagrangian stochastic simulations, and laboratory experiments are presented.
