During the summer of 1999, the soil contribution to sensible, latent, and carbon flux was evaluated by placing an eddy covariance system 1 m above above the soil inside a maize canopy. Net radiation at this level was also determined to assess the available energy for partitioning into sensible and latent heat flux. Power and co-spectral analysis shows that a majority of the flux is contained in the frequency range from 0.01 to 0.1 (s -1) Results from conditional sampling methodologies will also be discussed.
