Educators and students have long been interested in the process of weather forecasting. In this interactive workshop, teachers and participants will be guided to create their own forecasts using tools that meteorologists use daily. Participants will be trained to use clouds as a forecasting tool, make skilled observations, and interpret weather maps, satellite, and radar imagery. This lesson includes exciting demonstrations on pressure, how pressure systems create winds, and how radar and satellites work. Each participant will have access to this lesson plan and the presentation for classroom use. This workshop will empower each of the participants to make his/her own personal forecast.
