The Air Force Combat Climatology Center uses a deterministic mesoscale model to produce high-resolution gridded climatologies. Traditional climatology methods rely on focused analysis at points where observations are taken, and are of limited use in areas with few observing sites. The models purpose is to provide high-resolution climatologies over data-sparse regions, or areas with limiting, complex terrain factors. A previous paper examined the rigorousness of the model in accurately modeling temperature and dew point climatologies. This paper will explore the ability of the model to accurately model cloud ceiling and wind speed data by comparing the probabilities of the modeled climatologies with that of the observed data.
