The FAA's Medium Intensity Airport Weather System (MIAWS)

MIAWS provides weather situational awareness at medium-sized airports where there is no TDWR or ASR-9. The system uses NEXRAD data as input, generates products such as 10 & 20 minute forecasts of storm position and estimated storm track, precipitation alerts, and terminal weather information, and provides user interfaces for distribution of selected products to Air Traffic, Airline Dispatch, and Pilots.
