With 121 WFOs, the NWS is uniquely structured to incorporate highly-localized information into its suite of daily forecast products to meet its primary mission of protecting lives and property. Such micro-climatological information can be used to provide a key indication of the expected impact to the general populace of an area, given the elements forecast. The poster describes recent efforts by NWS Central Region WFOs to more explicitly incorporate societal impacts into daily forecasts and explore the opportunity that the NWS' Interactive Forecast Preparation System (IFPS) will create to allow all NWS WFOs the ability to provide critical location-specific impact forecasts on a daily basis.
